Our farm has been 2 years in the making, and we're far from done! We had to clear a space large enough for the dome construction, allow plenty of sunshine, and room for a future orchard.

Meet Mountain Thyme Farm's security detail: Porcha, Ben, Louie, and Skye. This pack is always on patrol for squirrels, coyotes, foxes or anything else that wanders into their territory.

We're proud supporters of EARS, and have fostered several pups over the past two years.
The garden boxes are progressing nicely- each one is filled halfway with very well rotted wood, a layer of straw, then topped with Sunshine Mix Soil #4, black earth and aged manure. Planting has begun, and we're looking forward to watching the growth and progress of these crops for a fall harvest!
So far we've started lettuces, peas, cucumbers, basil, dill, tomatoes, sage, savoury, peppers, and radish and beets. Since this is year 1 of growing in the dome, it's anyone's guess as to how things will go.
Plant growth is heavily affected by sunlight hours, as well as warmth. Our goal is to keep costs down by not having to install grow lights- but this winter will be a true test.
Sept. 2nd, 2026 update: The following are some pics of the incredible growth we've seen since the summer planting. We've been blessed with some beautiful August and early fall warmth and sunshine - which keeps the temps in the dome in the high 20's all day and late into the evening.
Below you'll see growing:
Bed 1 - dill, sage, savoury, bok choy, beets, radish, and a zucchini
Bed 2 - cucumbers, spinach, peppers, sage and a zucchini
Bed 3 - tomato, basil, Swiss chard, a zucchini
Bed 4 - cucumber, tomato, basil, chives, a zucchini
Bed 6 - peas, lettuce

Beds 8,9, and 10 are unplanted as of yet. Waiting for my seed starts to be ready to plant up.
